Middleeasttycoon News Desk : Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef has completed an official visit to Italy, aimed at strengthening economic relations and industrial cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Italy. The visit included bilateral meetings with government officials and private sector leaders, highlighting opportunities in 12 promising industrial sectors. Saleh Alsolami, CEO of the National Industrial Development Center, joined the discussions.
During the meetings, Alkhorayef emphasized Saudi Arabia’s national industrial strategy, strategic geographical location, advanced infrastructure, and energy availability as incentives for Italian companies to invest in the Kingdom. Key topics included clean and renewable energy solutions and attracting Italian mining companies to Saudi Arabia, leveraging Italy’s expertise in industrial innovation.
The minister met with prominent Italian figures, including the Minister of Environment and Energy Security and the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy. Leaders from major Italian companies such as Fincantieri, Piëch, Leonardo, AlmavivA, and Barilla also participated in a roundtable discussion focused on localizing strategic industries like aviation, electric cars, shipbuilding, and food manufacturing.
Alkhorayef attended the COMOLAKE 2024 conference, where he delivered a speech on the importance of international cooperation for sustainable industrial development. He invited Italian officials and business leaders to participate in the Future Minerals Forum (FMF), scheduled to be held in Riyadh in January 2025, underscoring the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering global partnerships.
