Oman Becomes Member of WAIPA

Middleeasttycoon News Desk : Idris Abdul Rahman Al Khanjari, Oman’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, met with Ismail Ersahin, CEO of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), to discuss collaboration on investment promotion in Oman. This meeting, organized by Oman’s Permanent Mission, focused on leveraging WAIPA’s resources and partnerships to enhance investment opportunities in the Sultanate.

Al Khanjari underscored that Oman’s membership in WAIPA marks a pivotal development, particularly highlighting recent efforts to modernize the foreign investment system. He expressed that joining WAIPA and other economic organizations in Geneva aims to integrate the Omani market with global markets.

He pointed out Oman’s unique investment advantages, including its strategic location, proximity to major global markets, and robust infrastructure, such as ports, free economic zones, and industrial hubs, which collectively position the country as an attractive destination for investors.

Ersahin emphasized WAIPA’s mission to bolster its members’ capabilities in attracting high-quality investments. He noted the importance of fostering communication among various investment promotion agencies and sharing best practices from both public and private sectors. The two parties also discussed the potential for Oman to host the 2025 World Investment Conference, which could further enhance the country’s visibility in the global investment landscape.
