MIDDLEEAST TYCOON NEWS DESK:According to a statement from government spokesperson Bassim Alawadi, the letter denounces Israel’s “overt breach of Iraq’s airspace and sovereignty by utilizing Iraqi airspace to carry out an assault on the Islamic Republic of Iran on October 26.”
Alawadi noted that this issue would be addressed in discussions with the United States.
On Saturday morning, Israel launched air raids on military sites within Iran, claiming they were in retaliation for a missile strike on October 1.
Iran reported that this missile strike was, in turn, a response to the July assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and the killing of Iran’s top military advisor to Lebanon.
Iranian leadership is currently considering a response to Israel’s attack, which resulted in the deaths of four Iranian soldiers and one civilian.
The UN Security Council convened on Monday at Iran’s request, with Tehran urging the council to denounce the strikes.
