Critics have referred to her as a “Marxist ideologue,” a “communist,” and a “California radical.” Others, including Republican figures, deem her a “DEI candidate” lacking the intellect and qualifications for the presidency.
As an anthropologist focused on peace and conflict, I’ve studied political division in the U.S. since 2015. In my exploration to counter polarization, I’ve engaged with political messaging and voters from both sides. Here are five reasons why some individuals choose to support Harris.
